Food Science and Nutrition Level 3 (from 2015)

WJEC is pleased to announce that two new Level 3 qualifications in Food Science and Nutrition have been approved. These qualifications will be available for first teaching in England and Wales from September 2015, first accreditation summer 2017.

  • Level 3 Certificate in Food Science and Nutrition (QAN 601/4553/5)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Food Science and Nutrition (QAN 601/4552/3)


Answers for the Certificate 'Test your knowledge' questions are now available and can be accessed by visiting the Illuminate Publishing website, clicking on the 'Food, Hospitality & Catering' tab and then on the Certificate book's page. The link is about halfway down the page. Alternatively the answers can be accessed via this link.

Internal Assessment Mark Input System

Please note that the marks for the internal assessments/controlled assessments are to be submitted via the Internal Assessment Mark Input System (IAMIS) on the secure website. The work should be despatched to moderators by the 15th May. For further information, please refer to theInternal Assessment Manual.

Controlled Assignments

The unit 2 external assessment will be available for centres to download from 1st May each year from the secure site, in the Resources/Todays Question Papers section.
